National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) 2025
About the Committee:
This committee is an exploration of the world in the year 2025 for NASA. The world, over the past few years, has become more and more interested in space exploration, ever since the mission to the moon Europa, which found micro-organisms living underneath its surface. NASA has many different projects on the pipeline. The first is conducting a Manned Mission to Mars. The second is establishing a space colony on the Moon. The third is exploring other bodies in the solar system for signs of life.
Topic 1: Manned Mission To Mars
A manned mission to Mars was planned in the fall of 2018, with the most powerful rocket ever built at that time. However, the recession of 2018, which occurred in the spring, put these plans on hold, and soon, the project was cancelled. However, through the Space Act passed in 2023, plans were once again brought into NASA.
Topic 2: Space Colonization
Space colonization has been on NASA’s radar for more than 20 years. The most viable option for this would be the Moon, since we have already landed on the Moon 50 years before. However, NASA would need to evaluate the cost of the project and risks, and on top of that, NASA would need the assistance of other Space nations to be able to conduct this mission.
Topic 3: Europa
Ever since the mission to Jupiter’s moon, entitled Europa, proved to be a massive success by its finding of life underneath its icy surface, the world has been calling for more missions to possible life-sustaining bodies in the solar system. NASA needs to evaluate the costs of this mission and risks associated with it.
